Ahhh New Financial Year, how you excite me!
This is my first Financial Year roll over as a Bookkeeper - I never thought it could be so exhilarating. I have learnt so much in the last 6 months and I’m really looking forward to learning even more!

Take a Lesson in Understanding Financial Reports
As trite as this may sound – take a moment to ask yourself a question: Why do you have a bookkeeper?
The fact is that a major proportion of small business owners have a bookkeeper to help produce the quarterly or monthly GST and tax returns, and don’t really expect – dare I say, dream of – much more beyond this.
Your bookkeeper is in an excellent position to take you as many steps beyond basic compliance as you wish to take. Once transactions have been processed, the holy grail of the bookkeeping world becomes attainable – the financial reports… And if this doesn’t excite you – it should.
